Abundance Thinking In Your Coaching

There are numbers of well meaning Christians who unwittingly fall prey to idolatry and mammon in marketing. The prosperity message, one with everything in the universe, abundance, it all has one thing in common. It leads people away from Christ. It has no place in Christian coaching.

Because let’s just be clear about what new age doctrine is, it’s success without Lordship or pointing to Christ as the source of all hope and salvation.

I’ve read the Science of Getting Rich. Read many books on abundance thinking and millionaire mindsets. It is all in the same category to me of all the self-help gurus. It’s getting you to think multiplication without denial. It points to you and not Christ. It’s the opposite of what it takes to grow spiritual authority in the kingdom of God.

I have noticed from my own coaching perspective, individuals who are attracted to these kind of businesses or even pastors, have grow up in fear based homes. The statistics say 50% of the church come from homes that are addiction based, performance based, you were adopted, had chronic illness or other defining life experiences.

13 Characteristics of people who grew up in an addiction based home of origin:

  •  Guess at what normal behavior is.
  • Have difficulty following a project through from beginning to end.
  • Lie when it would be just as easy to tell the truth.
  • Judge themselves without mercy.
  • Have difficulty having fun.
  • Take themselves very seriously.
  • Have difficulty with intimate relationships.
  • Overreact to changes over which they have no control.
  • Constantly seek approval and affirmation.
  • Usually feel that they are different from other people.
  • Are super responsible or super irresponsible.
  • Are extremely loyal, even in the face of evidence that the loyalty is undeserved.
  • Tend to lock themselves into a course of action without giving serious consideration to alternative behaviors or possible consequences. This impulsively leads to confusion, self-loathing and loss of control over their environment. In addition, they spend an excessive amount of energy cleaning up the mess.

This list comes from 13 Characteristics Of An Alcoholic Home by Janet G. Woititz, Phd. If you see anything you struggle with on this list, you will actually be ATTRACTED to people in business (and even church) who display the same leadership characteristics of your home of origin. Typically, a deep-seated need for affirmation and/or material wealth because you had so much instability (insert now all the prosperity preachers you have heard and the stories they told about their childhood).

Let me encourage you to build your business God’s way. Building biblical Lordship, dying to self and functioning out of your authority as a son/daughter of Christ and not positional titles.

Make disciples as you grow your business! Point to Him and the work he has done in your life. Do this consistently and you will multiply and grow!

Question! Do you see anything on the list that is sabotaging you? If you want prayer, leave it and I will be praying for your DELIVERANCE!

Love, love, love you! Bec:)

3 Tips For Staying Consistent With Your Marketing During Overwhelm

What makes the difference between growing a business or quitting? Perseverance.

Often times it isn’t the most talented individual or the person with the most marketing money who is successful, it’s the person who simply will not quit and keeps investing into their vision by FAITH!  I believe one of the things that enables us to persevere to the end of a vision, through confusion, is simply coming to a place where our natural strength is gone and we have to ask God to give us a supernatural faith to finish. The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy so you must guard you daily prayer time and your faith in Christ. Here’s a quick way to discern how to persevere through a trial.

FAITH will always be future oriented. It gives you an expected hope and end. FEAR will remind you of where you failed, who you can’t trust, why you can’t move forward due to lack and why you can’t be successful.

Here’s what you need to know about starting and finishing your vision. You will have moments when you’re exhausted and you’re ready to quit. That is the time you have to pray and ask God to ignite you for the sake of others.  I try never to put my hand to something that is all about me because I know myself. I will quit. However, if I am serving others, I will always finish because I am motivated by love.

It makes no difference whether you want to lose 50 pounds or speak for Christ in your business. These principles apply.

  1. Become militantly aware of your thoughts.

This is the first battleground and where most people fail. Satan will always inject a fear-based thought that you think is your own and if you don’t reject it immediately, he will grow it.

2.  Believe God wants to give you victory and your footsteps and circumstances are ordered by him even thought they feel completely overwhelming.

When you see the compassion and works of Christ, you know he is simply reflecting his Father. Your Father wants to heal. He wants to provide. He wants to bring mercy where there is judgment. HE IS A GOOD DAD! When you fail, you simply run back to your Dad and ask for forgiveness and that you can yield to the work he wants to do in your life. When you have trouble, turmoil and challenges, go to the Lord and say this:

Lord Jesus, I accept all you bring by your hand. However, if this trial is from Satan, I resist it and I ask you Lord to illuminate to me in prayer if this a demonic attack. Learn how to pray and take patterns and repetitive challenges into prayer with you. God will show you if it is an obstacle that he has brought to conform you to the image of Christ or if it is from the pit of hell and you are to resist, pray and stand strong until he flees. Most of what you will deal with will be oppression not discipline from God.

3.    Plan on sharing your testimony with others. Today because you can’t be a victim and a victor at the same time.

We have overcome through the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. Revelation 12:11

Always tell the Lord in prayer that you can’t wait to share this victory story with others. The enemy wants to suffocate and restrict, he loves pity. Loves painting you as a victim because it detracts from your sonship/daughtership in Christ! When people ask you how you are doing, or how things are going, ALWAYS SHARE something God has done to move your forward rather than what is lacking. Even in the midst of a fiery trial, this will keep you full of faith. If people ask you how they can pray, share with them that you want prayer that your faith will stay activated and passionate and that God’s will be done. You will see tremendous increase in your life from declaring the praises of God DURING the battle and what God is going to do for you AHEAD. Remember David and Goliath!

How To Build Your Business Through Your Identity

This is a very important assignment for you today if you want to operate out of your identity in Christ through your business. When I speak on how to overcome obstacles through your identity in Christ, I walk people through this coaching myself. I want you to say all of these statements out loud and stop and write down whether you agree or disagree with them. If you take this seriously and in your prayer time, you will see exactly where you need to do identity work for this upcoming year.  For example:

  1. I AM forgiven for every place I have hurt others or blatantly disobeyed the Holy Spirit when I felt led to not to something. Agree or Disagree?
  2. I AM a son or daughter that my Father is pleased with. Agree or Disagree?
  3. I AM adopted in the body of Christ, no longer solitary or floating and am making disciples with grace. Agree or Disagree?
  4. I AM a powerful, loving and disciplined person. Agree or Disagree?
  5. I AM rooted and grounded relationally in the love of Christ. Therefore I am a team player and can challenge my team-mates in Christ to pursue their high calling because that is what I am doing. Agree or Disagree?
  6. I AM a resource multiplier and don’t need more to grow. I use what’s in my hand and I let God do the reproducing. Agree or Disagree?
  7. I AM delivered from the power of Satan unto God from all ADHD, distraction, fear of man, mental illness and tormenting thoughts. Agree or Disagree?
  8. I AM a man or woman of great faith and SPEAK TO MOUNTAINS TO MOVE and they have to be uprooted. This goes for every obstacle in my life that is not in the will of God for me including debt, negative individuals, bad jobs, exhausting cycles.
  9. I AM a bold and wise person. Serpents, scorpions, abuse, control, injustice, or outright persecution shall not harm me, my calling or my career. I slip right through it. Agree or Disagree?
  10. I AM able to discern temptation, power plays, manipulative people that will distract me from my mission with ease. I handle them by speaking the truth in love like Jesus. Agree or Disagree?
  11. I AM an influential person who walks in authority. Signs and wonders follow me as well as words of wisdom and supernatural revelation for people. Agree or Disagree?
  12. I AM someone who is strategic, focused and says no without guilt to everything outside my vision. I am not a people pleaser, I am about my Father’s business.

How To Wait On The Lord Practically

In today’s video, I want to talk to you about what I learned about waiting on the Lord in the context of moving from a prophetic vision to an actual apostolic model in business. Prophetic is what helps you birth your vision but then you have to move into a new mindset and that will cause you to have to wait on the Lord in a new way.

Don’t sabotage yourself with passivity or frustration from not seeing your vision come to pass fast enough.

How To Start Impacting For Christ Through Your Blog

Today I want to talk to you about why it’s important for you to start a blog and a couple practical things you can focus on with your writing so you can begin to impact people immediately for Christ.

First things. I believe one of the most crucial things about helping people receive transformation from Christ is simply activating their faith. You see, faith my friend, is the difference between life and death. I know, if I can simply just plant a seed of hope that has the possibility of bringing forward momentum. Every day, there is a battle for people’s hearts. We will either contribute to them moving forward or we will add to their unbelief because there is no middle ground in the kingdom of God.

Here’s the next thing. It’s our job as people of God to promote courage. To help them push past fear so they will risk failure and see it’s possible to be successful with that dream in their heart. Without this, they will never be overcomers. And for me, everything boils down to what can I do as a coach, speaker, and writer to help people see that they have within them, an overcomers identity. Even when they feel scared and are belching, pooping and vomiting from the stress of pushing themselves out of the comfort zone. Did I say that? Yes, I did because that’s how I know my clients are really applying themselves to faith. Just saying:)

  1. You must be comfortable with bringing people to a decision making place. Believe it’s possible that God will use you as unfinished as you are!  That means you must be persuasive in why you believe the course of action you are suggesting is not just important but imperative. Tell them exactly why they simply must do what you are suggesting.
  2. Write to your best friend, not a huge audience. This way you will be much more personal and heartfelt. Break it down into a process, you’re helping him or her solve a specific problem and you know they will be successful if they just do 1, 2 and 3!
  3. Tell them CLEARLY what will happen if they don’t move forward. Pain is an important motivator and this is not deflating faith. Jesus clearly talked about the difference between life and destruction. He also had no problem telling people how to be successful eternally and what they were doing to make things difficult. He was loving but spoke the truth in a way where people had to make a choice. You will never impact anyone on your blog if you don’t get over the fear of offending people or making it very clear what the right and wrong way to do something is.
  4. Use scripture. Don’t cram it but I suggest using minimally one scripture per blog if you’re just starting out. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. I personally believe the word of God is alive. It’s not just pointing to the story of the resurrection but literally alive. It’s Christ incarnate and it does not come back null and void. It’s sharper than any two-edged sword and has the ability to discern motivations to people if they are open to change.
  5. Give them a next step on how they can partner with you or get plugged in for momentum. This is the most important part of your blog. This is not about you, this about helping your client or member receive the support they need to stay consistent all the way to the end. No one builds anything successfully on their own. There are typically two or three people in their life that help them stay clear, on track and motivated until they finish their goal.

Remember, blogging is just an extension of your personal identity. All you’re doing is thinking in a context that you’re a couple steps ahead of who you are trying to help. You don’t have to be a famous, international guru! That’s not the point. The objective is to help someone receive transformation from Christ through your blog and the steps God has given you. How To Solve Challenges Through Your Identity In Christ

What do you do when you hit a challenge in your marriage, work or ministry that you’re not being able to solve? Is your first response to just try harder?
 I have a type A personality:)
That means I am achievement oriented and find significance through solving problems.
However, this can be a huge sabotage for me (and you if you do the same thing) if you don’t know when to stop and problem pause (This is what I call, stopping before you get frustrated and you talk to God about it).
Of course, there are situations where people just give up too fast and don’t have mental toughness to stick things out, but what I see from a coaching perspective often times is that people become emotionally connected to what isn’t “working”. They just steel themselves up and do the same thing again. This keeps them stuck in an old identity and they stop moving forward because they keep trying and trying.
In today’s video I talk to you about how I learned how to shift out of “trying” after the birth of my third child and I couldn’t seem to lose weight. In other words I was trying to diet and the Lord spoke to me to stop trying and come to him so he could break down for me exactly what to do. In today’s video I share with you what was at the root of my trying harder and sabotaging myself.
Because here’s the truth, when we follow Jesus, the yoke is easy and the burden is light.

We are given GRACE to build results. I lost 30 pounds in three months without exercising and I never went back to dieting and trying harder with food.
Faith forward and see you in the comments!

Love, Bec:)

How To End Yo-Yo Commitments In Your Life

Do you struggle with seeing yourself as inconsistent and unable to finish what you start? Do you tell yourself or others you are ADHD?  Can’t keep a thought in your head? Unorganized and forgetful? Always coming up with great idea’s but never executing? Then here’s what you need to know. You have experienced an identity theft and you can take back this ground spiritually. In other words, you need to do the work to discover WHO YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN in Christ. Many Christians make the mistake of trying harder or beating themselves up.  Inconsistency and double-mindedness is spiritual warfare and self-help is never going to help transform you.

It makes no difference what your personality type is, your intelligence quotient or who is not giving you the support you feel like you need. Simply put, commitment comes from WHO YOU ARE identity-wise.  And here’s what’s even more powerful. Finishing strong every time comes from you making a decision to remind and confess who you are in Christ every time the enemy tries to label in the way he desires. This means you can completely reframe and renew every area of your life where you feel like you want to experience new results. It makes no difference whether you apply this principle to weight, your educational goals, building loyal friendships, finances or any other area where you want to see long-term results.

What’s more, becoming a person who set’s goals and finishes what they begin isn’t complicated. To become who you have already been a Christ, you only need to do two things:

  1. Clarify if this objective is within the will of God and what specific way it will glorify Him.
  2. Remind yourself who you are in Christ and what your goal is daily until you complete it.

Remember, the kingdom of God is not complicated, it just requires FAITH. So let’s talk about how you take your mustard seed faith and apply it to this identity crisis.

1. Is This Goal Going To Glorify God If You Finish It?

This is one of the first things you want to ask yourself if you are a Christian. Will this goal bring you peace, righteousness, and joy to finish it? When you complete it will you be able to show your love practically to people as well as serve them? Will it be a blessing to them? When people ask you how you did it, will it open up doors for you to give a testimony about God’s finishing strength? If you can answer yes to these questions then I can assure you, it’s in God’s will.

2. Remind Yourself WHO You Are In Christ Daily!

Christ finished the race that was given to HIM by his heavenly Father because he was clear on his identity and his mission. Here is an identity prayer that you can pray to bring down the LIE you have received that you are double-minded, inconsistent or ADHD. It is a lie if you are a Christian because YOU ARE IN CHRIST and he was an overcomer! The word of God is a SHARP, double-edged sword. It is alive and active, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart and you will discover WHO YOU REALLY ARE! Able to do all things through Christ Jesus!

Father in the name of Jesus, I repent for agreeing with the enemy’s plans for my life that I become double-minded, frustrated and unable to build the kingdom of God. I break every word curse I have spoken over myself and other’s have spoken over my life. I plead the blood of Jesus over my goal to=>Insert Goal here! I thank you Lord for giving me a finish faith according to Philippians 4:13 that I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. Thank you Lord Jesus, that I have overcome through the blood of the lamb and the word of my testimony and I love my life not even unto death according to Revelation 12:11. I thank you for making me mentally tough to finish this goal and the perseverance I need to see this goal come to pass so that it glorifies you. Today, I AM in you and because of that, I will finish strong and impact others for the kingdom with my testimony!
